Updated: Aug 8, 2018

It was a day to remember for 30 children from two charity homes, when they celebrated Christmas together with games and performances, and saw their wishes come true at Bukit Kiara Properties (BKP) Gallery, VERVE® Suites KL South.

Themed ‘Make Your Wish’, the event was organised by the niche developer, BKP,in conjunction with the school holiday and festive celebration.  The children were asked to send in their wish lists for BKP team members to prepare their Christmas gifts in advance.

This charity drive waspart of BKP’s Caring Hands initiative, which aims to reach out to charity homes and contribute back to the community.

On the event day, the children aged between 2 to 17 years old, were accompanied by their caretakers from Rumah Kanak-Kanak Angels (Angels Home) and Praise Emmanuel Children’s Home to BKP Gallery at VERVE® Suites KL South, a project developed by BKP.

Upon arrival, the children kicked off the fun day with ice-breaker games, such as Musical Chairs, Memory Quiz, and Newspaper Loop Race- a series of games that cultivated teamwork among the children.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of Christmas gifts. Among the items on children’s wish lists were new clothes, sports shoes, pencil cases, pyjamas, and toys. The children’s faces shone with joy and happiness when they received their dream gifts.

“We hope this little gesture brings joy and happiness to the children, especially with Christmas around the corner. We are glad to see the smiles on the children’s faces, and we hope this inspires them to bring joy to others too,” said BKP’s Managing Director, Datuk NK Tong.

Belinda Chew, the caretaker from Angels Home, expressed that the young recipients were excited to have their wishes granted.

“Their wishes are simple. They are just grateful to receive brand new items belonging to them, such as clothes and toys,” Belinda added.

“We are appreciative for this fun-filled treat. The children were very excited to receive their gifts and participate in the games session,” commented Christopher K. Michael, the guardian from Praise Emmanuel Children’s Home.

During the event, the children from Angels Home also performed a dance to a remix of ‘Timber & Despacito’, while Praise Emmanuel’s children sang a song and recited bible verses from memory. These performances won loud applause from the crowd. The children were treated with a buffet lunch before waving goodbye with beaming smiles, clutching their gifts close to their hearts.

The cheerful performance from the kids won a big round of applause.
